Event Details

Join us in the forest for an evening with the Pisgah Pickers at the Cradle of Forestry. All proceeds from the event will benefit the FIND Outdoors Hurricane Helene Relief Fund. Click here to learn more about the fund.

The Pisgah Pickers is a collective featuring Woody Platt, Mike Guggino and Mike Ashworth of Steep Canyon Rangers and Bennett Sullivan.  Members of Junior Appalachian Musicians will perform in the Discovery Center from 4 p.m. – 5 p.m.

  • What time is the event?
    • Doors open at 4 p.m.
    • Show will begin at 5 p.m.
  • Can I explore the Cradle before the show?
    • Yes! Admission to the Cradle is included with your ticket. Plan to arrive when gates open at 4 p.m. to enjoy the Discovery Center and trails.
  • Where at the Cradle of Forestry will the event be held?
      • The concert will take place in the outdoor amphitheater.

  • What happens if it rains?
    • Pickin’ for Pisgah is a rain or shine event. In the case of inclement weather, the show will be moved indoors to the Discovery Center.
  • Can I bring a lawn chair or blanket?
    • Lawn chairs are welcome but may only be used in grassy areas. Stadium seats, stadium cushions and blankets are welcome in the seating area.
  • Can I bring a cooler or picnic?
    • Please, no outside food or drink. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the event. Selections include burgers 7& more from SmashNC, beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages. Guests are welcome to bring their own water bottles.
  • Can I bring a pet?
    • We ask that no animals are brought to evening events at the Cradle with the exception of service animals for guests with disabilities.
  • Parking:
    • Ample complimentary parking is available at the Cradle of Forestry. Please park as directed by our volunteers.
  •  Accessibility:
    • Accessible parking is located near the Discovery Center entrance. Please let a member of our team know if you require assistance making your way to the amphitheater.
