Head out to Tipsaw Lake Recreation Area for a celebration of the annual Kentucky Derby! From 1:00 – 3:00pm, campers and day-users will take part in our very own “mock derby” using homemade pool noodle horses, while competing in a scavenger hunt during the race. Prizes will be awarded, so bring your best race attire, pick your team, and join us for some fun at Tipsaw on May 6th!
What to expect:
Wear your derby or favorite bonnet to win a prize! We welcome creativity!
Find your pool noodle horse to race and if you win get a prize!
Complete the scavenger hunt for your free FIND sticker!
Water and Mints provided!
1 pm – We will be kicking our day off with fun facts about the history of the Kentucky Derby and the 149th renewal of The Greatest Two Minutes in Sports.
1:30 pm – 2:30 pm – Line up for the race, pick your winner, laugh and have fun. Watch the golden horseshoe be presented to the winner!
2:30 pm – 3:00 pm – Scavenger hunt.
