Thank your for joining us for the Healthy Outdoor Cooking session at Gladie Visitor Center in the Red River Gorge located at 3451 Sky Bridge Rd., Stanton, KY 40380.
This lesson will cover steps for food safety and fire safety when cooking outdoors. Participants will explore various categories of outdoor meals such as picnics, front country camping (at established campsites), and backcountry camping (more remote, undeveloped campsites) along with recipes appropriate for each. Two hands-on activities will allow participants to learn about fire safety: Edible Campfire Activity and Making Firestarters activity. If weather permits, participants will practice cooking a recipe outside.
Session is Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 10:00 am until 12:30 pm.
