The Blue Ghost Photography Tour is limited to 6 participants, will be a curated and semi-guided experience to allow for amateur and experienced photographers alike the opportunity to practice and perform long exposure photography of Blue Ghost Fireflies at a comfortable pace along the Cradle of Forestry’s paved trails.
The photo guide, Bobby Bradley, will start the night off with a sit down and equipment overview with the participants as well as review some images Bobby has made over the years and discuss techniques to achieve similar results. After discussing goals and equipment strategy, the group will go out on the trail to scout out locations and also learn about Blue Ghosts with a FIND Outdoors Naturalist. Once dark, the participants will split into pairs at 3 locations (2 participants at each location). The photo guide will rotate along the 3 locations to offer tips, tricks, and advice as well as set up his own cameras to shoot alongside and do show and tell. At approximately 11pm we will wrap up shooting and return to the building to review images and celebrate the night of shooting. Each participant will hopefully leave with a memory card full of images.
Bobby Bradley is a Brevard, NC based Photographer specializing in fine art landscape and nature imagery. He enjoys practicing techniques such as long exposure, multiple exposure blending, and creative post-processing techniques to get the most out of camera tools to achieve new and unique images in otherwise low light situations.
Please note there is a minimum number of 3 people required for this tour to proceed. If this number has not been met, we will reach out to you to reschedule.
