NC Campgrounds- Van Hook Glade
In response to the widespread damage caused by Hurricane Helene, all recreation sites on the Pisgah and Nantahala remain closed until hazardous conditions improve and assessments can be completed. Visit fs.usda.gov/nfsnc for more information.
Cliffside & Van Hook Glade is closed until further notice. All guests with existing reservations will receive an email regarding the closure and a full refund for affected dates. There will not be any campsites available and day use areas will be closed during this time. For more information, please visit the US Forest Service.

Van Hook Glade Campground is approximately four miles from the heart of Highlands, NC in Nantahala National Forest and very close to Franklin, NC. This small, secluded campground is directly across the street from the beautiful Cullasaja River. Up the hill from the campground, you’ll find Cliffside Lake Recreation Area, a tucked-away haven of tranquility, where you can swim, fish, hike, picnic, and take part in family nature programs. Gather your favorite people and escape the everyday routine at Van Hook Glade Campground and Cliffside Lake Recreation Area.

Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash or kenneled at all times. Please clean up after your pet!
Shelter rental fees are for the ½ day and do NOT include the Day Use fee.
Largemouth Bass, Trout, and Bluegill can be found in Cliffside Lake.
