Russell (Rusty) L. Garrison

Chair

“Rusty” comes to FIND with 30+ years experience in the environmental education and natural resource fields, many of those years with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. An avid outdoorsman, Rusty is excited about having a voice that resonates with FIND’s mission of education on our public lands.

Wendell (WC) Godfrey

Finance Chair

WC is an engineer/teacher who has a passion for education and the outdoors. He loves playing pickleball or hiking around western NC and surrounding forests. When approached about a Board position, WC was excited about FIND’s mission and the actions of the organization and teamwork of the staff.

Ashley Hoffman

Governance Chair

Ashley Hoffman is the Executive Director of the Kentucky Association for Environmental Education and the Southeastern Environmental Education Alliance. Her background is in wildlife ecology, environmental education and nonprofit management. In her free time, she enjoys traveling to new places and enjoying time in the outdoors with her husband and their four children.

Garry Whisnant

Vice Chair

Garry is a retired engineer with 38 years in the utility industry. He spends his time consulting with utilities as well as sporting travel, fly fishing and bird hunting. In addition, Garry is engaged with a number of non-profit boards in the WNC area.

Eric Caldwell

Board Member

On the Board since 2017, Eric has a long career adopting watershed management policies and best practices and technologies for land stewardship. He currently holds a position as Watershed Project Manager for Jennings Environmental, PLLC.

Wm. Scott Gain

Board Member

Scott is retired from 35 years as a Hydrologist and Water Science Center Director for the US Geological Survey.  His education in forest hydrology and experience in the US Peace Corps working in tropical agroforestry led to a life-long appreciation for the important ways all society depends on the mutual sustainability of both land and water resources and for the vital role of public education and engagement in achieving this. Today, Scott and his wife Catherine divide their time about equally between their home in Tennessee and a small cabin and pond in the mountains near Brevard, North Carolina that he and his family have loved and enjoyed for more than 30 years.

Cindy Seibt Gotsch

Board Member

Cindy Gotsch is the Executive Office Manager and Assistant to the President and CEO for the Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation. She has been at McGraw since 2016. Mrs. Gotsch started her career in accounting and managed the departments for two small manufacturing companies where she assisted the Comptroller and Management. After staying home to raise her children for 13 years she became the Legislative Assistant to retired State Senator Dan Duffy and managed his office. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance with a minor in Accounting from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. Mrs. Gotsch enjoys spending time with family and friends, is working on her shooting skills and enjoys walking, camping and fishing

Jessica Ireland

Board Member

Jessica Ireland, a NC Certified Environmental Educator, leads the educational programs for the North Carolina Forestry Association (NCFA), including the Sustainable Forestry Teachers Experience. Ireland received a Master of Forest Resources and Conservation degree, with a focus in environmental education, from the University of Florida. Before joining the NCFA, Ireland worked with and coordinated natural resource education and extension programs for 15 years.

Renee Strnad

Board Member

Renee is the Environmental Educator for Extension Forestry, housed in the College of Natural Resources at NC State University. In this role, she serves as the state coordinator for the environmental education curriculum, Project Learning Tree, and is a North Carolina certified environmental educator. Along with over 25 years of environmental education experience, Renee also brings experience on numerous nonprofit boards with her to FIND.

Jocelyn Wilson

Board Member

Jocelyn joins the family from the Weyerhaeuser’s Giving Fund, where she learned more about how local and regional nonprofits were using their resources to give back to local communities. She spends any available time with her family exploring the Croatan National Forest, across from her home in the eastern coastal plan town of Newport, NC.

Kim Morris-Zarneke

Board Member

Kim is the Program Manager for Georgia Department of Natural Resource’s Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center where she oversees the day-to-day operation of the facility including education programs, professional development, and Conference Center. In addition, Kim serves as the state coordinator for Georgia’s Project WILD program, a national K-12 curriculum focusing on natural resources. Her background is in Biology-Aquarium Science and Environmental Education, and is a certified environmental educator in Georgia.  Kim brings with her 30 years environmental education and nonprofit experience.
