Due to impacts from Hurricane Helene, Nocturnal Animals Scavenger hunt has been cancelled for Carolina Hemlocks & Black Mountain Campground. Program Details

Did you know that nocturnal animals are awake at night but spend most of the day sleeping! Come join us and see if you can spot all the nocturnal animals.

Throughout the month of October join us at these campground recreation areas to learn more about the animals that go bump in the night.  Be on the lookout for spiders, bats, raccoons and a host of other animals that you will most likely encounter after dark.
