Join us for an up-close and personal look at our local birds of prey with Georgia Mountain Falconry.
What’s YOUR favorite bird of prey?
We’re excited to have Buster Brown and his team of master falconers returning to Brasstown Bald for a special program with Georgia Mountain Falconry! You’ll get the chance to view owls, hawks, falcons, and other surprise guests very up-close and personal, while learning how these majestic animals help our ecosystem and the food chain in the wild.
Georgia Mountain’s Master Falconers will also share their experience working with their raptors, offering us a glimpse into the relationship between falconer and falcon.
In addition to meeting and greeting with our falconers and their friends, Georgia Mountain Falconry will be providing a presentation in the that includes graphic scenes of our wildlife in action. While the presentation is an intimate look into how falcons hunt their prey, viewer discretion is strongly advised for small children and those sensitive to animal-on-animal violence.
Raptors are majestic creatures and are vital to the health of our environment and our falconers are trained professionals who want to share their passion with us. We ask that our visitors respect our feathered guests through calm observation and appreciation from a safe distance of at least 4 feet. We also ask to please leave your pets at home! Should you have pets with you, please keep them out of view as much as possible. Raptors are wild predators and their behavior can be unpredictable around other animals. Following these guidelines will keep you safe and will allow everyone – and every bird – to enjoy an unforgettable experience!
