Carolina Hemlocks Campground, operated by FIND Outdoors in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, is a scenic riverside campground in the Appalachian District of Pisgah National Forest. Located along the beautiful South Toe River, this peaceful North Carolina campground provides easy access to Mount Mitchell State Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway, making it one of the best destinations for camping in Pisgah National Forest.

Visitors can enjoy swimming, fishing, tubing, hiking, and picnicking along the river, or simply relax beneath the cool shade of towering hemlock trees. The campground offers a variety of tent and RV campsites, including several with scenic river views, creating a perfect setting for a mountain camping getaway.

Conveniently located just one hour from Asheville, NC, two hours from Greenville, SC, and two and a half hours from Charlotte, NC, Carolina Hemlocks Campground is ideal for a weekend trip, family vacation, or peaceful outdoor retreat in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Directions

From Asheville, North Carolina, take I-26 west to exit 9, onto 19 east toward Burnsville. Follow 19 to Micaville and turn right onto Highway 80. Follow 80 south approximately 8 miles to the Carolina Hemlocks Recreation Area.
