Due to bridge replacement work near the entrance of Lake Winfield Scott on Georgia 180 there may be temporary delays and one lane traffic during construction. The construction will not interfere with the operation of the site. Campers with large rigs are encouraged to use the directions coming from Dahlonega.
April 1- October 31

Lake Winfield Scott Recreation Area, operated by FIND Outdoors in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, is situated high in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, offering visitors the opportunity to experience Georgia mountain camping at its finest. During your visit, be sure to explore Brasstown Bald Recreation Area, Georgia’s tallest mountain offering incredible 360-degree views, and consider staying at nearby Morganton Point Campground for additional camping options.
