Explore Appalachian Geology & Cherokee Culture at Georgia’s Highest Peak
Join us at the visitor center at Brasstown Bald for an exploration into the geologic and cultural history that has shaped our Blue Ridge Mountains for centuries. Join us at the top of the highest mountain in Georgia to learn how the Appalachian Mountains formed to become among the oldest ranges in the world. You’ll also learn how to make your own topographical mountain and create a special craft that reflects the cultural significance of mountaintops in Cherokee symbolism!
Plan Your Visit
Parking: Visitors should park in the designated parking lot once gaining admission through the fee booth.
Format & Participation: Visit the Georgia Educator anytime between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM for an exploration into the geologic and cultural history of the mountains containing Brasstown Bald, where you’ll also be shown how to make a topographic mountain craft and a simple yarn craft.
Schedule: 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
On-site location: The tabled event will be located near the shuttle stop and gift shop.
