
Woodring Primitive Campground, located on Carter’s Lake in North Georgia, is a quiet, wooded destination ideal for primitive camping. The campground features 11 primitive campsites nestled in a heavily wooded area, along with two loop trails for exploring the natural surroundings.
Whether you are planning a peaceful overnight stay or a day on the water, Woodring Primitive Campground offers a simple and scenic outdoor experience. Check-in begins at 3 PM, and check-out is at 12 PM, making it easy to plan your visit and enjoy all that Carter’s Lake has to offer.

From Atlanta, take I-75 north to Exit 293; follow Highway 411 north. Turn right on Highway 136, then left on old Highway . Turn right on Highway 282/76. Campground is located 4.5 miles off Highway 282.
From Ellijay, GA, take Highway 282/76 west for 11 miles to the access road and follow signs to the primitive campground.

Holders of an America the Beautiful Interagency Annual, Interagency Senior Pass, Interagency Access Pass, Interagency Military Pass, Interagency Volunteer Pass, Every Kid in a Park Pass, and Golden Age Passport or Golden Access Passport may utilize day use areas nationwide, for no fee, provided the owner of the pass is present.
