Woodring Primitive Campground, located on Carters Lake in North Georgia, is a quiet, wooded destination ideal for primitive camping. The campground features 11 primitive campsites nestled in a heavily wooded area, along with two loop trails for exploring the natural surroundings.
Whether you are planning a peaceful overnight stay or a day on the water, Woodring Primitive Campground offers a simple and scenic outdoor experience. Check-in begins at 3 PM, and check-out is at 12 PM, making it easy to plan your visit and enjoy all that Carter’s Lake has to offer.
Looking for something more developed with amenities? Woodring’s Developed Campground is open from May till Labor Day!

From Atlanta, take I-75 north to Exit 293; follow Highway 411 north. Turn right on Highway 136, then left on Old Highway 411. Turn right on Highway 282/76. The campground is 4.5 miles off Highway 282.
From Ellijay, GA, take Highway 282/76 west for 11 miles to the access road and follow signs to the primitive campground.
