Admissions & Fees
Admission to Brasstown Bald Visitor Center & Recreation Area can be paid when you arrive at the site. No advance purchase is required for regular day-use visits.
Operated by FIND Outdoors, an outdoor recreation nonprofit, in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, Brasstown Bald is supported in part by visitor admission revenue. These funds help maintain the site and trails, support educational programs and visitor services, and provide the outdoor experiences that make Brasstown Bald a special place to explore within the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest. During your visit, you can enjoy the summit observation deck, explore the exhibit hall and mountaintop theater, browse the gift shop and general store, use the seasonal summit shuttle, walk the Summit Trail, and take in views from the highest point in Georgia.
During the visitor-services season, Brasstown Bald is open seven days a week from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The last shuttle to the summit departs at 4:30 PM, and the final return shuttle leaves the summit at 5:00 PM. Public access is available year-round, but the visitor center, gift shop, theater, exhibits, and shuttle are available only during staffed operating periods.
Regular admission is $10 for visitors ages 16 and older. Children 15 and younger are admitted free. Outside regular visitor-service hours, the after hours day-use fee is $6 for visitors ages 16 and older, with payment available through the self-service fee station near the entrance or through the official online day-use pass system.
Visitors arriving outside operating hours should expect no shuttle service, limited facilities, and little to no artificial lighting. The unlit Summit Trail provides access from the parking area to the outdoor observation deck, so visitors should bring a flashlight and prepare for current mountain weather and trail conditions.
Brasstown Bald is closed the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Because admission rates, staffed hours, shuttle operations, weather conditions, available services, and accepted passes may change, visitors should review current information before traveling.
