Before or after exploring the Cradle of Forestry, visitors can stop inside the Giving Tree Gift Shop, located in the Discovery Center. The shop offers a welcoming mix of nature-themed gifts, educational books, locally made items, Cradle and Pisgah National Forest merchandise, and grab-and-go snacks for your visit.
One of the highlights of the Giving Tree Gift Shop is its selection of local and handcrafted goods. Visitors may find handmade items, locally inspired artwork, regional crafts, honey, jams, coffee, ornaments, stickers, pins, and other gifts connected to the mountains of Western North Carolina. Many items celebrate the forests, wildlife, trails, and communities surrounding Pisgah National Forest.
The shop also carries a wide variety of books and educational materials for visitors of all ages. Families, teachers, homeschool groups, and curious readers can browse children’s books, forestry and nature books, hiking guides, maps, wildflower guides, and books about Pisgah National Forest, Appalachian history, Cherokee culture, and the surrounding Western North Carolina region.
For visitors spending the day at the Cradle or continuing into Pisgah National Forest, the gift shop also offers useful travel and outdoor items.
