Have you ever gazed up at the night sky and wondered what was “out there”? Now’s your chance to view Brasstown Bald’s scenic vista in a whole new light – or dark!

Event Details

FIND Outdoors is partnering with Atlanta Astronomy Club at the highest point in Georgia to discover the hidden mysteries of Georgia’s darkest sky. Expert astronomers will guide participants through the night, interpreting the wonders of the universe through their galactic stories and expertise. You will also be given the opportunity to use high powered telescopes to explore our universe even further. You’ll become a “Guardian of the Galaxy” after spending an evening learning about the magic of deep space and North Georgia’s incredible nightscape.

Plan Your Visit

Parking: This event takes place in the middle margin of the parking lot at Brasstown Bald. You will be directed to park in the outermost margins of the parking lot to keep light activity away from the program’s location. Once parked, feel free to visit the gift shop prior to the event start; you’ll see large telescopes and our partners at the Atlanta Astronomy Club ready to greet you in the middle parking area!

Format & Participation Type: Event introduction will take place at 9:00 PM; participants will listen to the expertise of our astronomy partners at the start of the program; visitors are then invited to view the night sky through telescopes provided by the Atlanta Astronomy Club and enjoy a leisurely evening under the stars.

Schedule: Gates open at 8:30 pm; program takes place from 9:00-10:30 PM

On-site Location:  This event takes place in the middle margin of the parking lot at Brasstown Bald. Thus, seating is not provided; bring your favorite lawn chair and a blanket!

Fee structure: Ticketed Event. Tickets must be bought online in advance.
