Celebrate the artistry, heritage, and excitement of the forest at TimberFest! Enjoy live wood artisans, thrilling timber sports demonstrations, local crafters, food trucks, living history, family-friendly games, and hands-on educational activities throughout the day.Â
Be among the first to experience the grand unveiling of the Cradle of Forestry’s newest exhibit, a Chainsaw Carved Statue Walk by Echoes of the Forest, carved using trees felled during Hurricane Helene, carved into 6 species that were impacted by the storm.Â
TimberFest is included with regular Cradle of Forestry admission. Join us from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM for a celebration of forestry and forest products!
Plan Your Visit
Getting There: Follow signs to the Cradle of Forestry in Pisgah National Forest. Check in at the Visitor Center upon arrival. TimberFest activities take place throughout the Cradle grounds.
Parking: Parking is available in the Cradle of Forestry parking area and is included with regular admission.
Format & Participation: TimberFest is a full-day celebration of sustainable forestry, wood products, and Appalachian heritage. Explore at your own pace and drop in anytime between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM to enjoy demonstrations, exhibits, artisans, educational activities, and family-friendly experiences throughout the site.
Schedule Gates open: 10:00 AM TimberFest activities: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Cradle of Forestry closes: 5:00 PM
On-site Location: Activities are spread throughout the Cradle of Forestry with points of interest across the site, including demonstrations, artisan areas, educational exhibits, and the unveiling of the new Chainsaw Carved Statue Walk by Echoes of the Forest.
Admission: TimberFest is included with regular Cradle of Forestry admission. No separate event ticket is required.









Mountain weather can change quickly, so consider bringing a light rain jacket or umbrella if rain is in the forecast.
