FIND Outdoors started in 1972 as the Cradle of Forestry in America Interpretive Association. After much growth, today we run campgrounds, recreation areas, and visitor centers on public lands across the Southeast, working alongside the US Forest Service, the US Army Corps of Engineers and other partner agencies.
Our board sets direction, keeps us accountable and opens doors. Staff runs the sites day to day. You help decide where we’re headed.
Shape strategy, keep our mission and policies current, and bring your expertise to the big decisions.
Approve the annual budget, review financial reports and the yearly audit, and keep the organization focused on its mission.
Be a public voice for FIND, make introductions, and help raise the support that keeps our programs going.
You don’t need board experience. You do need to care about public lands and be willing to show up. We’d especially love to hear from people who bring:
Four a year, on the second Wednesday of February, May, August and November, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Join in person at our Pisgah Forest, NC headquarters or by video.
Finance and Governance committees meet by call, so you can serve from wherever you live.
